Emergencies during sedation and anesthesia can arise unexpectedly, requiring rapid decision-making and effective intervention. This course, led by Dr. Jarom Heaton, focuses on recognizing, managing, and preventing sedation-related emergencies in the dental setting. Participants will learn critical airway management techniques, including the use of oxygen delivery systems, bag-valve masks, oral and nasal airways, and advanced airway adjuncts like LMAs and endotracheal tubes. 

The course also covers crew resource management (CRM) principles, dynamic decision-making, and the role of cognitive aids in crisis situations. Special emphasis is placed on recognizing early signs of respiratory distress, airway obstruction, and laryngospasm, equipping dental professionals with the knowledge and confidence to handle emergencies effectively. Whether refining existing skills or building new ones, this course is essential for enhancing patient safety in sedation dentistry.
