Texas Sedation Guidelines: Classification, Stages, and Safeguarding Techniques
1 CE Credit Hours: $99

Understanding the sedation continuum and proper patient management is essential for ensuring safety and compliance in dental sedation. Led by Dr. Jeff Gregerson, this course provides a comprehensive guide to the Texas sedation permit classifications (Levels 1-4), defining the differences between minimal, moderate, deep sedation, and general anesthesia. Participants will learn how to assess patient responses, recognize when sedation levels deepen beyond intent, and implement corrective interventions to ensure patient safety.

The course also covers essential monitoring techniques, airway management, and strategies for minimizing sedation-related risks. Special emphasis is placed on safeguarding techniques, including adjusting nitrous oxide levels, oxygenation, and the use of reversal agents when necessary. This training equips dental professionals with the knowledge and skills to confidently administer sedation while maintaining strict adherence to Texas state regulations and best practices.
